BOARD OF TRUSTEES

E. Graham Holloway

Chairman of the Board and Founder

A combination of sharp instincts, sheer determination and a strong moral code of ethics led Graham to achieve tremendous success in the investment business.  In the early days of his career with The Capital Group, he quite literally “spread the word” out of the trunk of his 1970 white Cadillac.  Driving through the west with his trademark optimism and great hair, he dispensed old-fashioned wisdom about the rewards of hard work and honest enterprise.  The “Billy Graham” of the investment world taught the average working person how to take part in the financial rewards created by his own labor.  He believed in and still lives The American Dream.

Carolyn Green Holloway

Secretary of the Board and Founder

Carolyn was the older of two daughters born to George and Dorothy Green in Chattanooga, TN.  After graduating from high school, she went to work for an outdoor theater in Cherokee, NC.  It was there that she met and enchanted Graham, who was running the concessions.  They married later that year and began their journey together that produced three children and circled the globe.  Traveling extensively during Graham’s 30+ years with American Funds Distributors, Carolyn embraced each trip with youthful enthusiasm and profound curiosity.  She fulfilled her dream of finishing college when she graduated from Lyon College in 2000 at the age of 64 with a degree in Art History.  To this day she is the “go to” person in the family for information on nearly any topic.  Carolyn is active in her church and community, and delights in being a “Muvie” to her two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Valerie Holloway Skinner

Vice President of the Board

Graham and Carolyn’s middle child, Valerie, serves as the Foundation’s sole staff person.  She has a B.S. degree in Education from Baylor University and an M.S. degree in Counseling from Texas Christian University.  She is married to Mark Skinner, a commercial real estate broker, and has two children Chase (22) and Cresson (20) and two stepchildren Josh (21) and Jake (16).  At different times in her life Valerie has taught elementary school, run a retail tennis shop, and worked in sales and marketing for Bob Mader Photography, CommQuest Technologies and Edward Jones Investments.  When not administering the work of the Foundation, she enjoys tennis, travel, walking, yoga, needlework and volunteering in her community.
